Hello Bob & Andy:

Have to say your tag team pod casts have been great right from the start but they seem even more polished now and are even more of a joy to listen to!

Andy, to answer your question about whether or not today is a holiday in Canada I am happy to say that wahoo!!! it is a holiday! For government workers (both provincial and federal) Good Friday and Easter Monday are stats, private industry usually grants one of the two days to their workers. So, Des has today off but has to work on Monday, I have both today and Monday off and as Monday should have been my extra day off I get Tuesday off as well! Wahoo!!!!! Champagne and strawberries please!
Boringly I will be hitting the books and studying both days as I (hopefully) have that promotion board to prepare for.
We are actually very lucky in Canada as it works out to one stat holiday every month so there is always a long weekend to look forward to.
Just one more reason to move here eh gentlemen?

A big thank you to Andy for your help and guidance this week, I really appreciate it my buddy!!! Dont' worry Bob, no conspiracy, all will be revealed in time and hopefully you will have an ear to ear smile on your face!

Okay, time for the EuroVision retrospective:

1980 - What's Another Year?
He looks terrified!
Poor lad, he's 12 and life is over cause he's lost in love.
Almost sleepy, he's a good singer but I think this song underutilized his talent.

1982 - Ein Bisschen Frieden
Very sweet, very pure, how can you fault that?
Andy - is this the youngest ever EuroVision winner AND what did she go on to do?

1984 - Diggi Loo Diggi Ley
A little too contrived.
The best thing about the offering is the ridiculousness of the gold lamee fairy boots.
Definitely should have diggi-ley'd low.

1985 - La Det Swinge
Looks like they are having fun on stage, too bad it wasn't as much fun watching it.
Again two languages don't seem to work - and this was a winner?????

Canada votes:

England - 10+++++++++

Croatia - 6.1
Very catchy, good beat, extremely exotic!
In my minds eye I could picture this group dancing around a campfire with gypsy caravans circled around. If it misses with voters on the music front it will win votes for the sexiness of the woman's costume!

Slovenia - 3.7
Beginning really drags, I was desperate to turn up the tempo.
Too much of a contrast between the ballad and upbeat sections.
He wasn't even cute enought to hold my attention during the video.

Bosnia Herzegovina - 6.1
Very even, haunting, even thought I didn't understand the lyrics it was hyopnotic and kept me wanting to listen.

Bob and Andy, thank you once again for sharing your passion about EuroVision through these pod casts, I hope you have as much fun making them as I do listening to them!

Looking forward to the next one!

Love you both very much!

Bob & Andy:

Apart from my EuroVision Virgin points earned can I get a few extra points for dedication please?

I tapped away and recorded all my comments only to have them lost so I had to start all over again.

:o(

And all this while four exceedingly good looking males (okay so three of them are fur babies) await me in bed.

Love you, love your pod casts!

Hey Bob and Andy..kiss kiss
just getting down to the votes this week so here goes...

Croatia
I was think when is this song gonna end..Please end please no more.
Do the male voices have to be so bad and wow does the stage act need some help it was very poo poo.
The song was not that horrible it was just annoying ethnic music to me.
rating: 4.5

Slovenia
First I have to say that hair of his looks like crap but the song was kinda cute.
Pretty crappy dance moves not at all impressed with the stage show...see now i am a stage show Eurovision critic!..but for some reason i think this song may do pretty good?
Rating: 6.2

Bosnia-Herzegovina
Now I am going way out on a limb with this one as for some reason I want to punch this guy in the face but for some reason this song I liked?
I just liked all the different sounds in the song...maybe it is my sinus headache clouding my judgment???
Rating: 6.5

Tigger's Eurovision 2006 Song Scoring Card
**********************************************
Scale: 1-10 (Ten being best)
**********************************************
Representing Country: USA (West Coast!)
**********************************************

Song #1 - Croatia
Tigger Score = 5.0

I have to say, I didn't quite know what to think of this song. I listened to the track twice, and still remained confused. I liked the ethno flavor, but it did seem a little odd to me. Especially, since the song's subject was about stilettos.

That is why I gave it a score of five. I just don't know whether I liked or disliked it?

Song #2 - Slovenia
Tigger Score = 2.6

God..Am I starting to see that there is quite a bit of "fluff" in Eurovision. This song is another example of more fluff. Left very little impression on me. Can't comment anymore about it.

Dustbin music as I see it.

Song #3 - Bosnia Herzegovina
Tigger Score = 7.9

I really liked this song. Great music. Nice voice. Such melancholy, and that very haunting and longing melody with the flute and strings. I really enjoyed this one. I agree, I don't think that it is a "Eurovision" song, but it was very beautiful.

.:.

Thank you Bob and Andy for all your birthday well wishes.

I guess I better start dong my podcast research for the American Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Then I can "crack the whip" over you Brits.

Love ya guys
